Sesquicentennary Anniversary.

On Saturday 8th October 2016 the parish of Our Lady of Sorrows came together to celebrate it's Sesquicentennary Anniversary. The celebration of the 150 years since the church was officially opened.

The Most Rev Bishop Patrick Lynch was the chief celebrant with concelebrating priests from the Vincentian community, neighbouring parishes and also from the Capuchin Franciscans who previously looked after the parish for many years.

The Most Rev Bishop Paul Hendricks, previous Parish Priest of Our Lady of Sorrows, was also in attendance.

At the conclusion of this special Mass, members of the parish community were presented with 'Certificates of Recognition' for their service to the Parish Community.

Congratulations to them on their awards, and on behalf of the parish we thank them for all their hard work, commitment and service.

After this came the presentation of the 'Fideliter Servienti' award of the Archdiocese for long service to the parish.

Congratulations to them on their awards, and on behalf of the parish, our sincere gratitude for their many years of service.

A note from the Parish Priest.

"On behalf of the people of Our Lady of Sorrows, I sincerely thank the Jubliee
Committee coordinated by Deacon Alfred and Fr Vincent for a job well done.
We thank all parishioners who contributed either cash or kind or both.
May the Blessings of the Jubilee continue to remain with you and your families.
The Lord is good!"

Very Rev. Fr. Richard Diala, CM.
Parish Priest.
